Laser therapy is a highly effective non-surgical method for removing facial thread veins, broken capillaries, and spider veins on the face. These small, visible blood vessels, known medically as telangiectasia, often appear around the nose, cheeks, and chin, causing persistent redness or an uneven complexion. They are incredibly common and can appear due to genetics, sun exposure or simply as part of the skin’s natural ageing process.
At Laser + Light skin Clinic I use advanced vascular laser technology (Nd:YAG) to safely collapse unwanted facial vessels without damaging the surrounding skin. Our treatment targets the superficial veins beneath the surface of the skin, helping you achieve a clearer, more balanced, and more confident appearance.
Our approach delivers gradual yet visible results, helping to restore a clearer, more even complexion and renewed confidence, all with minimal discomfort and downtime.
The Motus AY emits a specific wavelength of light that is absorbed by haemoglobin within the vessel. This light energy converts to heat, causing:
Over the following weeks, the body naturally breaks down and clears the treated vessel, leaving little to no trace of the original redness. Some vessels may re‑vascularise, but they typically return as much finer, less visible capillaries.
This treatment is particularly beneficial for those looking for a non-invasive solution with minimal downtime. It is important to have a consultation to ensure this treatment is suitable for your skin type and vein condition.
As a specialist in advanced laser treatments, I use the Motus AY because it delivers exceptional vascular results with minimal discomfort. Every treatment is tailored to your skin, your concerns and your goals, ensuring safe, effective and natural‑looking improvements.
If you are ready to reduce facial redness and restore confidence in your skin, the Motus AY offers a gentle yet powerful solution.

Clients typically describe the sensation as mild, often compared to a light snapping feeling on the skin. It is generally well tolerated.
Treatment plans vary depending on how many thread or spider veins are present, but most clients achieve the best results after a short course of sessions spaced several weeks apart.
Final results may take 1-2 months to become apparent.
Avoid sun exposure/fake tan, products containing Vitamin A or Acids (glycolic, AHA’s, BHA’s, Lactic), Vitamin C, exfoliants, peels etc. for 5-7 days before treatment.
1. Consultation
Your skin, vessels and medical history are assessed to ensure the treatment is safe and appropriate for your concerns.
2. Treatment Session
A thin layer of gel is applied to the skin. Controlled laser energy is delivered directly into the vessels.
3. Aftercare
Mild warmth or redness may appear immediately after the treatment and usually settles quickly. Applying a layer of aloe vera is recommended to sooth or ice packs (but never directly on the skin, always wrap in a towel or cloth). SPF 50 is essential to protect your results.
Avoid sun exposure/fake tan, products containing Vitamin A or Acids (glycolic, AHA’s, BHA’s, Lactic), Vitamin C, exfoliants, peels etc. for 5-7 days following treatment.
Many vessels respond immediately, while others fade gradually over 2–6 weeks. Depending on the number and size of vessels, a course of 1–5 treatments may be recommended. Final results becoming visible within 1–2 months.
Vascular treatments are usually spaced 6–12 weeks apart. This gives the body enough time to absorb the treated vessels and heal.

Every journey at Laser + Light Skin Clinic begins with a thorough consultation and patch test. This allows me to assess your skin, check for any sensitivities, and ensure the treatment is completely safe for you.
During your consultation, I will explain how the treatment works, what results to expect, and how to prepare for the best outcome. It is also a great opportunity for you to get to know me and feel confident in the process.
Once your patch test is complete, I will create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your skin type, hair type, and goals. You will have plenty of time to ask questions and discuss anything you’d like to know before starting your course.
